It is one the biggest scandals in American history and involved Nixon. I'm not sure on all the details, but that's a start. Looking it up on yahoo will give you loads on information. |

A couple of Washington reporters, in the 70s broke into places they shouldn't have and compromised the president, had stuff on tape and he had to resign. Nothing that doesn't happen today difference is they don't get caught. |

Nixon sent his guys to burglarize the Democrats' HQ for poop on someone who was going to lose either way. Then, he helped cover it up. This led to Nixon's resignation, since in the crucial committee vote to bring articles of impeachment to the floor of the House, he got 0 Republican votes in his favor (and of course 0 Democrat votes). |
